Highlighting COST in Armenia
On 24 November 2021, during the inauguration of the Armenian platform of the EURAXESS network, COST was invited to inform researchers and innovators from Armenia about the opportunities the programme can provide for them. The COST presentation and workshop was part of a whole day online event, bringing together researchers, representatives of research-oriented organisations and different funding agencies in order to share information and experiences.
Armenia is Near Neighbour Country whose researchers and innovators are actively using the COST Actions for engaging with their peers from Europe and beyond.
There are currently 45 COST Actions running with Armenian participation that is 15% of the total running Actions.
Katalin Alföldi, policy officer at the COST Association gave a detailed overview of the COST Programme by also answering the questions on the benefits of joining a COST Action and the ways to participate in COST activities.
Earlier this month, the European Commission and Armenia have signed the agreement granting the Republic of Armenia the association status to Horizon Europe, the EU’s research, and innovation programme (2021-2027).
Armenian researchers, innovators and research entities can now participate under the same conditions as entities from the EU Member States.
