The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Association is proud to announce the publication of its Annual Report 2024, highlighting a year of successful scientific cooperation across Europe. The report shows how COST Actions – collaborative research networks – are addressing the most urgent scientific challenges of our time through cross-border cooperation and knowledge sharing.
As President of the COST Association, Prof. Salvatore Grimaldi summarised: “COST Actions demonstrate their direct contribution to key EU strategic priorities”. He added: “COST offers simple and low-barrier processes for universal access to networks of excellence, making COST a crucial player in the continuous development of the ERA”.
The numbers back this up. Dr Ronald de Bruin, Director of the COST Association highlighted a 62% increase in applications to the COST Open Call, a clear sign of the growing demand for networking opportunities. “This overwhelming participation highlights COST’s growing influence in the European research landscape, reinforcing its vital role in fostering collaboration”.
