During info sessions the participants learned about how they can participate in COST Actions and how this can help them broaden their research networks. Additionally, they were informed about the recent measures to increase participation of COST Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC). This was particularly important as the COST Associationhas committed to investon average at least 50% of the EU Horizon 2020 grant in activities benefiting researchers from Inclusiveness Target Countries.
The COST Association Director, Dr Ronald de Bruin, has met representativesof the Romanian Ministry for Research and Innovation to further enhance participation of Romania in COST-funded activities.
The event hosted over 200 participants representing universities, research centers and institutions covering a wide range of scientific fields: political science, engineering, radiation physics, forestry, micro technologies, pharma, soil science, agro-chemistry, agriculture, chemical-pharmaceutical R&D, environment, etc.
Romanian participation in COST-funded activitie s
Romania-based researchers’ participation in COST-funded networking activities has almost doubled in recent years: from 264 participations (2011) to 478 in 2016. However, few researchers working inRomania hold a leading position in COST Actions, with only one Romanian Action Chair.
