They publish two blog posts to showcase the importance of gender equality in their field:
Surveys & statistics
The women in HARMONIA are leading groundbreaking research in aerosol science. The network conducted an anonymous survey among their participants that concluded 70% of respondents reported challenges balancing motherhood and scientific careers, 60% experienced gender bias in the workplace, and 50% believe current policies are in place but not always effective.
1500-1800 (PCPSce) investigates the interactions between the pre-modern media revolution through printing and the emergence of public spheres in Central Europe in early modern history.
The network comprises 58 women researchers and innovators and 63% of leadership positions are occupied by women. To better understand the challenges women still face in their careers and research fields, we conducted a survey, asking
- Do you think that women in history are represented sufficiently in the literature of your field of research?
- Do you feel that you have ever faced challenges in your career because you are a woman?
- What advice would you give to young women starting a career in academia today?

Did you know that women make up just 25% of the hydropower workforce which is more than in the oil & gas sector (22%) but behind renewables (32%). PEN@Hydropower are here to break barriers & boost womens participation in hydropower through their women’s mentoring group. The Action explains “In NEXUSNET COST Action, we recognize that diversity is the foundation of innovation and progress. Just as water, food, energy, and ecosystems are deeply interconnected within the NEXUS framework, gender equality in science is not just about fairness – it is about enhancing our collective knowledge and strengthening our ability to address complex global challenges.”

52% of women actively participate in LIAISE COST Action, a network focused on Industrial Symbiosis (IS), the process by which waste or by‐products of an industry or industrial process become the raw materials for another.
