The aim of COST Action 352 was to investigaete the influence of IVIS on road safety in general and to estimate the need to eliminate any risk of dangerous driver distraction. The results of the research undertaken, both under simulated driving conditions and in real traffic, led to the establishment of several important facts found in the present report. Due to the variety of aspects under research in each Work Package, each subject is discussed in separate dedicated chapters which also provide their specific conclusions and results. These facts and their respective scientific explanations are intended to allow manufacturers as well as the concerned legal uathorities to elaborate means of making IVIS both user-friendly and safe.
