The aim of this publication is to collect basic information about PFAs of the countries involved in the action in a standardized way. The countries’ reports will be an important basis for further analyses of Protected Forest Areas in Europe. In addition, the reports obviously allow insights into the state of protection of forest biodiversity for countries individually. The countries’ reports have a consistent structure and content to allow comparisons between the 25 countries involved in the action, but without constraining information on any special characteristics they may have.
